Best of 910Preps Volleyball: Player of the Year and all-star teams  (Fayetteville Observer - 12/23/25)

Player of the Year
Taylor Baggett (Gray's Creek)

Gray's Creek's Taylor Baggett's senior season was one for the record books.

The Bears' outside hitter and defensive specialist capped her high school career with a dominant final season that helped Gray's Creek get to put together a ground-breaking year as the first high school volleyball team in school and county history to make it to an NCHSAA Final Four.

The Western Carolina commit finished with 496 kills on the season, setting a new school record and ranking 10th in the state. She also rewrote the Cumberland County record book by ending her career with 1,395 kills.

But Baggett's skill level on the hardwood goes far beyond her eye-popping numbers, and her presence was felt at every corner of the court. Head Coach Amber Strickland has consistently praised her leadership and presence during key moments when her teammates needed it the most.

"It means a lot having her, and a lot of the younger players look up to her," Strickland said earlier in the season. "She's that person for us that'll gather everyone in the middle of the court during hard times and tell them that, 'We can do this, let's step it up,' having that dominant mindset and being able to put the ball away in any position means a lot to have that.  (Fayetteville Observer)
