March 9 - March 14 Stangle scored the only goal in Terry Sanford’s win over Lee County and scored six goals over three games. February 16 - February 21 Johnson won his third consecutive NCHSAA state championship, this time at 138 pounds in the 7A classification, and was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler. He finished the season with a perfect 38-0 record. February 2 - February 7 Wilkerson has been a big part of Terry Sanford’s winning streak. In 20-plus point wins over Lumberton (Feb. 6) and Overhills (Feb. 7), Wilkerson had a double-double in each game. She totaled 35 points, 29 rebounds, two assists, a steal, and four blocks over the two games. October 27 - November 1 Helmers, a Furman recruit, added her name to the list of Golden Bullettes who have a N.C. High School Athletic Association title by winning the 6A championship with a time of 17:21.40. October 6 - 10 The North Carolina Central recruit has saved some of her best volleyball for the back half of the Colts’ season. For the second time in three weeks, Newlin posted 65+ kills to help Cape Fear finish 3-0 in a week. Last week included a 23-kill performance against Jack Britt and 25 in a four-set win over Scotland. Four of Newlin’s five 20+ kill efforts have come since September 22. September 29 - October 4 The Buccaneers went 3-0 last week thanks to key contributions from Locklear. The senior middle blocker had 33 kills and 14 blocks, including 12 kills and nine blocks against Richmond. Jack Britt enters the week having won seven of its last eight matches. September 1 - 6 Baggett had 45 kills over two games last week against Pinecrest (9/2) and Pine Forest (9/4). She had 25 kills during the Pinecrest game and 20 kills against Pine Forest. She also had 16 digs, six blocks, and 10 aces between the two games as well.
